Hyosung's newest responsible collaborations

A denim using Hyosung stretch fibers

Within the upcoming edition of Kingpins Amsterdam, Hyosung TNC, a global specialised manufacturer of elastane, has partnered with several denim industry insiders.

Within the global denim event taking place at Sugar Factory, in Amsterdam, on taking place on 14 and 15 October 2026, the company is presenting three new collaborations with Maritaş, with Tencel and Nien Hsing, and DNM and Denim Deal.

For the first collaboration, Maritaş, a Turkish denim producer, has used Regenagri-certified cotton grown through regenerative agricultural practices, and Hyosung’s RCS certified recycled spandex produced in its Turkey based facility. The initiative emphasizes the importance to collaborate with partners that operate near each other as a way to lower emissions and serve clients in the same market area

The second collaboration has involved two fiber suppliers, Tencel and Hyosung, and a Taiwanese denim mill, Nien Hsing. Together they created an authentic look and texture of denim with the ease and comfort of recycled stretch. They achieved the textured appearance with Tencel Lyocell–HV100 and Hyosung’s 100% recycled Regen Elastane.

Hyosung was involved with another project together with DNM, the Turkish denim manufacturer producing in Egypt, and Denim Deal, a Dutch activist association which aims to reach the production of one billion pairs of jeans containing at least 20 % post-consumer recycled (POCR) cotton by 2030 worldwide.

The denim they developed is made with more than 20% post-consumer recycled (POCR) cotton blended with Hyosung’s Regen Bio Max Elastane made from renewable resources. Combining post-consumer recycled cotton with sugarcane-derived elastane gives brands a denim story that brings together recycled and renewable materials.

“We are delighted to have partnered with respected denim industry suppliers to bring these new innovations to market,” said Jay Woo Lee, Hyosung TNC Denim Lead. “We look forward to joining the denim community at Kingpins Amsterdam to present these new fabrics to brands and retailers, which we believe will support with their denim storytelling.”

Among other novelties Hyosung will disclose its latest developments with new Regen Bio Elastane derived from sugarcane now in production at our integrated facilities in Vietnam. They began producing it in August, bringing the industry’s first integrated bio-based spandex production system into operation.

The system connects the entire production chain, from sugarcane feedstock to Bio-BDO, Bio-PTMG and finished spandex.

Hyosung’s Bio-BDO facility currently has an annual production capacity of up to 50,000 tons, with plans to expand capacity to up to 200,000 tons as market demand grows.
