Discover Prada Galleria, a trip through the brand’s very “Milanese”past, present, and future

Prada Uomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Milan

Milan, 15 September 2026–Prada has just disclosed its new experiential complex—Prada Galleria—connecting all its different universes under a single roof in Milan’s best “salotto,” the exclusive 19th century shopping arcade Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, in a very rigorous and refined characteristic Milanese style.

A new subterranean passage running underneath the shopping arcade’s central octagon connects Prada’s men’s and women’s boutiques—as the maison’s first steps moved from here in 1913—along with the historic Marchesi 1824 pastry shop, a selection of past Prada Emisphere exhibitions, together with a library and exclusive private areas reserved for customers and VICs; and a permanent exhibition dedicated to the brand’s history and evolution.

Open to the public from 23 September, 2026, upon reservation only, the new Prada Galleria leads its visitors through a unique trip from its underground level through eight floors and astonishes visitors who can become serial accumulators of memories and future visions, discovering a multifold, highly experimental, and emotionally stirring world.

The Prada Galleria project comprises eight floors of retail, hospitality, art, and history, and brings to life the brand’s strong connection to the Italian Milanese soul, in the very center of its beating heart.

Under the direction of Miuccia Prada, the complex condenses more than a century of the family company history while underlining that Prada’s identity is a constantly evolving entity that  dialogues with different disciplines like art, architecture, cinema, culture, and sport.

The brand’s multiple identities are reflected through each of its levels. Its lowest one, the “Secret Passage, (meaning “secret passage”), a 14-meter-long tunnel, presents an exhibition of lesser-known episodes from Prada’s history, including a selection of its first campaigns and the trendsetting, most experimental elements of its history. It connects each of the boutiques’ spaces, almost doubling their size with a additional underground floor, and adding new product categories like, for the woman’s store, travel accessories, eyewear, home, and beauty—this last one hosted as a store per se for the first time.

Above the Uomo store, the iconic Milanese pastry shop Marchesi 1824 invites visitors to gather around artisanal offerings and delicacies.

Atop Marchesi 1824, the Pradasphere area unfolds the first permanent exhibition dedicated to Prada, its history, and constant evolution, balancing between the house’s Fratelli Prada traditional leather goods from 1913 and Miuccia’s constant experimentation in the disruptive use of materials, silhouettes, prints, and inspiration. From “Prada nylon“ backpacks produced from 1976 until 1990 to its first prêt-à-porter collection of 1988 and tracing more than a century of creativity to the present day.

They also disclose part of its future as they host Axiom Space‘s uniforms that will  be worn by astronauts for the missions from 2027 on.

While some rooms host video consulting areas, a tiny movie theater, a library for consulting books and literature about Prada and its main sources of inspiration completes this semi-permanent exhibition.

Climbing up the stairs on the second floor, Studio offers a series of intimate, salon-style rooms designed for highly personalized shopping by appointment, with a central hall for private events.

Stepping one floor above, Appartamento is an invitation-only space for private dinners and special occasions and events. It recreates a hypothetical apartment from the 18th century hosting an exhibition of the internationally renowned photographic artist Andreas Gursky, along with special contemporary art and antique Italian art pieces and furniture, amid matt wooden floors, soft velvety sofas, and green Alp and soft pink Carrara marbles.

And despite outside every window the beautiful Galleria’s decors, statues and mosaics pop up, every visitor entering the Prada Galleria–and especially this last floor–they feel like diving into a unique atmosphere suspended in time and space. No matter if the familiar hustle and bustle of Milan is roaring just a few steps below.
