Alive ’N’ Kiki is taking a summer break and will return online with fresh new stories from 31 August 2026 on. Relax, take your time, and enjoy summer.
I chose to illustrate my summer wishes with a gallery playing with cool images by MTL Studio, an Italian new fashion brand by founder and creative director Matteo Lamandini.
The collection captures the essence of his childhood’s summer vacations in Romagna as depicted in the classic movie “Rimini Rimini.” Recreating an atmosphere of life at the beach and memories of his past summers, he portrays the Riviera of the 1980s and 1990s through his own vision, of present looks with a touch of irony.
The brand’s second collection explores a universe made up of gender-fluid looks of fresh, flowing garments, often mixing two-tone fabrics. Playful pieces adapt to different styles: the shirt becomes a dress, or the dress that can be worn at different lengths and is suitable for both day and evening wear. Everything is designed to give a single garment multiple lives, with a nod to the concept of reuse and recycling.
Tie-dye is a protagonist in various shades and faded versions. Distressed denim evokes the past, while raw-edge cuts on wool, denim, and poplin accentuate wear and the passage of time.
Cotton poplin, typically used in shirts, plays a central role in this collection. Oversized outerwear, inspired by grandpa’s wardrobe, is the standout piece, offered both as a full suit and as individual pieces paired with distressed denim, and reimagined as work jackets. Finally, sheer fabrics and layering further enrich the looks.
Pink, the designer’s signature style element, appears in every collection to represent the feminine side of the design, wearable by anyone regardless of gender, to reinforce and highlight the collection’s inclusivity and sense of freedom everyone is looking for as an emerging trend and need for fashion and life.
Happy summer and stay tuned for more novelties for the coming weeks!!!!!
