Moschino has announced the appointment of Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo as its new creative directors, effective immediately, just a few days after Adrian Appiolaza’s departure.
Founders and creative directors of Sunnei through September 2025, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo are taking on creative leadership of the renowned Italian fashion house.
The duo’s debut at the creative helm of Moschino will be presented in September 2026 during Milan Fashion Week.
“In the evolution of a fashion house, it is essential to know how to combine identity and innovation. Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo possess the qualities necessary to rise to this challenge: a contemporary creative vision, a deep cultural sensitivity, and the ability to develop relevant design languages. We are confident that their contribution will further strengthen Moschino and support its growth in the coming years,” commented Massimo Ferretti, executive chairman, Aeffe S.p.A.
“We have always been struck by Franco Moschino’s ability to challenge conventions through creativity, while maintaining a clear and consistent voice. It is a rare quality. Moschino has always embodied this attitude as a cultural fashion house guided by a strong, recognizable, and radical philosophy, one that uses pop culture as a critical tool rather than merely as an aesthetic,” said Messina and Rizzo.
“Taking on the role of creative director means embracing this legacy and bringing it into the present, reinforcing its relevance and its ability to influence the contemporary imagination,” they added.
