Munich Fabric Start, the specialised trade show taking place in Munich twice a year, wants to evolve and transform itself into a year-round international platform for the fashion and textile industry.
It aims to reach its goal by extending its international reach, strengthening strategic partnerships, and creating an always-on digital presence connecting the community throughout the year—between the physical trade fair editions in Munich.
Part of the strategy and in keeping with the round of celebrations of its 30th anniversary, the show is launching a new website supported by the “30 Years. 30 Stories.” anniversary campaign. Nonetheless, they are also setting the basis for a new digital platform that brings the international textile community together all-year-round under the banner “365 Days Munich Fabric Start.”
Throughout the year, the platform will showcase industry insights, emerging developments, and diverse voices through podcasts, editorial content, video, and an expanded social media presence.
Together, these initiatives extend the Munich Fabric Start experience beyond the physical trade fair, creating a dynamic year-round platform for inspiration, exchange, and connection across the global fashion and textile community.
As part of the new strategy, Munich Fabric Start will launch a new webinar—“What Comes Next for European Fashion Supply?”—taking place on 28th October 2026, at 2pm GMT / 3pm CET.
This digital industry event will be available to everyone (previous registration), and will bring together international brands, retailers and textile manufacturers, as well as experts in sourcing, technology and innovation.
The webinar will act as a preview and as a thematic bridge to the Stage program of the next physical show edition, scheduled for 20-22nd January 2027.
Curated and led by Sofia Strazzanti, founder & CEO, Future Fashion Assembly, the series will bring together global perspectives, industry expertise, and actionable insights to support the textile and fashion community in navigating an evolving business landscape.
The inaugural webinar will be moderated by Muchaneta ten Napel, founder and CEO, Shape Innovate, and curator of the Stage program at Munich Fabric Start. Part of the program are also contributions from speakers including Philippa Grogan, head of sustainability, Nobody’s Child; Jamie Beck, senior vice president of Sustainability and Compliance, Fabacus; Dr. Dilek Erik, global marketing manager, Sharabati; Elsa Parente, co-founder and CEO, Positive Materials; and Gunish Jain, founder and CEO, Blue Kaktus.
The discussions will address some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the European fashion and textile industry, from regulatory readiness and digital transparency to the commercial application of digital and emerging AI-powered technologies.
A key focus will be the Digital Product Passport (DPP), evolving product data requirements, and the importance of substantiating sustainability claim.
Next shows’ schedule
Within this context, Munich Fabric Start has also set its new dates for summer 2027 and will bring forward a refreshed timeline for the industry, as Munich Fabric Start and its integrated shows-in-the-show Bluezone, Keyhouse, and The Source will take place in a revised dates position.
“Due to major local events in Munich, our exhibitors and visitors would have faced significantly higher hotel prices in June 2027. In the interest of our community, we therefore opted for the July dates,” explained Florian Klinder, managing director, Munich Fabric Start
“We look forward to a strong start for f/w 28/29. At the same time, with ‘365 Days Munich Fabric Start,’ we are driving our development into a year-round international industry platform. Our upcoming webinar and the trade fair in January 2027 are the next important steps in this direction,” he added.
