Miu Miu revamps Wrangler jeans and hypes street fashion mistakes

Sporty dresses and crystals. Vintage Wrangler jeans and ropes. Clashing checks and sporty tops. Creased silk dresses. New Balance sneakers in bright hues.

Miu Miu continues to hit the right chord as representing real life nonchalant fashion mistakes, but, obviously, with that right dose of wit and glamour that light up immediate attention.

Clashing contrasts like technical jersey minidresses added with applied crystal macro ribbons are a source of new seduction, like mixes of tartans worn in the same outfit made up of pleated low-waiste skirts and blazers, or sporty tops and beaded micro-bras worn with kilt-like skirts. Nothing can be more seductive.

At the heart of the collection is a collaboration with the iconic denim brand Wrangler. Only one pair of jeans was featured on the runway, disclosing a preview of a Miu Miu Upcycled capsule collection that will arrive in stores as a much more complete wardrobe in early 2027 for s/s 2027.

The first style unveiled in Paris was created by reimagining the brand’s Western identity with a design featuring crisscrossed laces as a closure, as an alternative to the classic zipper, and Miu Miu logo embroidered on the backpocket below Wrangler’s traditional leather label and well-known “W” stitching. This piece tells a new story, adding to the Miu Miu Upcycled line, which consistently breathes new life into used garments in true Miu Miu style. Since 2020, this collection has featured other collaborations with equally prominent brands, such as the one with Levi’s a few years ago.

Well done, Mrs. Prada. You never miss a beat. But could Silvia Onofri have had a hand in this one? She’s been Miu Miu’s quiet CEO for over a year now and doesn’t seem to have released any interviews yet.

Her touch could be somewhere in reviving Wrangler in this colab. The brand belongs to Kontoor Brands, a satellite of VF Group, where she previously served as president of Napapijri.

Other collaborations have also taken center stage, such as the new New Balance sneakers—part of a partnership that’s been ongoing for several years—now revamped with ultra-thin soles and neon colors, ready for the streets, the world that most inspired this collection, which straddles the line between luxury and everyday life, at the core of the brand’s evolution.
