While the current edition of Milan Fashion Week continues to run and disclose its positive course, another pleasant surprise has occurred.
Just a few days after the naming of Dario Vitale as creative director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories, the first s/s 2027 Emporio Armani event opened up a different atmosphere. Rather than a perfectly controlled fashion show with dimmed light and neutral tones, Armani Teatro hosted a lineup of the new collection showing beautiful outfits hanging in a bright light environment. A sound of music pervaded the air, while everyone could see and touch the product, greet and speak to each other, and reconnect again.
The collection itself expressed a unique beauty and the brand’s characteristics intact, but added with a new accent.
Behind every product a clear idea stands out—the passing of time. Leaving its imprint on blazers, bombers, trousers, shirts, and tops, altered colors and softened contours stand out as if they are transformed.
Emporio Armani has always offered a wardrobe where experimentation rules. It has always been a place of exchange where masculine and feminine, formal and informal, have always coexisted and where the personality of those wearing it emerged.
This season, however, time enters and changes perspectives, adding new meaning to materials while softening silhouettes. The time reflected in this collection, designed by Silvana Armani and Leo Dell’Orco, shows special effects of time and the aging of minerals.
Items on show present the action of salt corroding, decorating, and consuming. Acid washes and cold dyeing techniques create irregular color effects; linen reproduces, through the trompe-l’œil surface of worn garments, while grey and black denim release a more irregular effect of aging than in past seasons.
Jackets lose their structure or are crossed by panels and knots; trousers become airy; knitwear reveals the intimacy of underwear; and touches of lurex and aquatic surfaces interrupt the uniformity of colors that degrade from white to grey through gunmetal grey, culminating in black. A new story takes shape following its past steps.
