Diesel, the Italian jeans brand founded by Renzo Rosso in 1978, has announced the end of its collaboration with Glenn Martens, the brand’s creative director.

On the opening day of the upcoming Milan Fashion Week, September 22, 2026, the jeans brand will hold its final runway show designed by the Belgian designer for the S/S 2027 collection.

“Glenn Martens’ contribution to Diesel has been extraordinary,” said Renzo Rosso speaking about the 43-year designer who had joined Diesel in 2020 and had studied at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

“With his vision, talent, and dedication, he has transformed the way the brand is perceived, creating a strong connection with younger generations and laying a solid foundation for its future. He has brought Diesel back to the center of the global fashion conversation, while preserving the openness, energy, and accessibility that have always set us apart. We are deeply grateful to him for everything he has accomplished,” he explained.

No official announcement has been made regarding who will take over as the brand’s creative direction. DIfferently, he will continue to act as creative director of Maison Margiela, the luxury brand, which is part of the same holding company as Diesel (OTB Group), since January 2025, after succeeding John Galliano.

“Maison Margiela is living an incredible moment,” commented Renzo Rosso, at the end of the last Diesel fashion show under Martens’ direction. “Margiela is registering an extraordinary double digit growth,” he commented.
