11 September 2026–Today, Orta Anadolu, the highly experienced Turkish premium denim manufacturer, has announced the closure of its Kayseri production facilities.

The company sent out a communication to its customers and business partners, explaining that in recent years, the global textile sector has faced severe headwinds, like, for instance, the weakening of global demand, rising operational and financing costs, supply chain fluctuations, and shifting trade dynamics.

“Despite our comprehensive efforts-such as cost reduction initiatives, operational efficiency measures, and restructuring evaluations-unfortunately, it has been concluded that the current operational model is no longer sustainable under these economic conditions.

Consequently, our Board of Directors has made the extremely difficult decision to discontinue operations at our Kayseri facilities.

Within this framework, our production activities have been suspended as of September 11, 2026, and all our production facilities will be closed as of October 12, 2026,” the note from the company explains.

The communication continues: “We would particularly like to emphasize that throughout this process, we will work in close cooperation with all our stakeholders to fulfill our existing commercial obligations responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with our corporate values.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all our employees who have contributed to this 73-year journey, as well as to our customers’ financial institutions and suppliers for their trust, loyalty, and support.”

Founded in 1953, the global textile specialist has been a pioneer in industrial production, innovation, and sustainability and has been supplying high-quality denim to some of the world’s most iconic global brands since 1986.

Rumors about about a closer of the comapny’s production facilities were circulating already in May 2026 and they alreay spoke about stopping production by mid October, as the company had informed its clients of upcoming price increases to face the present time overall market price growth. At that time Orta had denied about the possibility of such a sad occurrence. Unfortunately, the global market conjunction didn’t allow them to continue in their plan of restructuring and relaunch.
