In days when the  jeanswear industry aims to further expand globally, Denimsandjeans, the trade show hosting denim-focused events in India, Vietnam, and Egypt, is putting a new flag on the world’s map of denim players’ destinations. A new show will happen for the first time in Korea, in Seoul, at The Platz, Coex Convention & Exhibition Center, on 22 and 23 September.

The new show organised by its founder Sandeeip Agarwal will present the latest fabrics and developments from the denim and athleisure industries in a key destination the fashion world.

This trend-conscious and forward-minded market is extremely important for its consumers’ strong interest in luxury, streetwear, vintage culture, and high-performance apparel. Despite this, for the global denim industry, it remains a relatively unexplored market. Therefore, the show aims to offer an opportunity to meet its players, build connections, exchange ideas, explore collaborations, discover new directions, and understand its unique take on fashion.

Among already confirmed exhibitors, the show will host Arvind, Blue Diamond, Deyao, Isko, Pioneer Denim, and Sapphire Diamond, among others.

A series of talks will involve new visitors discussing some topics the industry is keen about. Among them, they plan the “Activewear vs. Denim: Friends or Foes” discussion and panel talks disclosing next season’s trends.

On stage, various industry experts will comment on the market situation and evolution, including Nikita Raman, senior designer, Boss; Daniel Ou, chief product officer, 2XU; Daeun Hong, founder and creative director, 2000 Archives and 2000 Atelier Kyndof Inc.; Jihyun Park, chief designer, Hansae MK; Bong-Seok Gwon, CEO, BLR; and Yeo Kim, EVP-global head of design, Li & Fun.

More events are in schedule, including, for instance, a denim design competition involving students from more than ten Korean universities and a workshop led by Denim Tiger by denim master Geon.
