A new strategic is starting for La Perla Atelier, the iconic lingerie brand founded din 1954 by Ada Masotti. Effective 1st September 2026, Alessio Vannetti will guide the brand as its new CEO.
The historic Bologna-based company will start a new long-term project to restore its presence on the international stage, a mission that Vannetti has been shaping in dialogue with principal shareholders Kirsten and Peter Kern since the beginning of the year.
Paolo Vannucchi, who has served as CEO since the reopening of the Bologna Atelier last December, and to whom the company owes the restoration of full operational continuity following the acquisition,
will take on a strategic advisory role to ensure a smooth transition through the end of the current financial year.
“We first met Alessio earlier this year, and from those early conversations it became clear that his understanding of what La Perla is – and what it is capable of becoming – was both precise and expansive,” commented Kirsten and Peter Kern, principal shareholders, La Perla Atelier.
“Our ambition is to see La Perla reclaim its position at the pinnacle of the lingerie category, and as an important and unique presence in luxury at large. Alessio has spent his career at some of the most important Italian brands focused on the intersection of craftsmanship, brand equity and commercial performance, and that is exactly the leadership this next phase requires,” they added.
Since the completion of the acquisition in September 2025 through Luxury Holdings LLC, La Perla Atelier has taken some fast and effective steps to rebuild the company’s foundations by reinstating the entire workforce–approximately 220 craftswomen and craftsmen at the Bologna site–reopening the Atelier, and establishing a management structure equipped to guide the brand into its next phase of development.
Alessio Vannetti is an expert insider of the fashion industry. His career spans more than two decades at the helm of some of the most prestigious international luxury maisons. After covering different senior roles at Prada and Zegna, in 2015 he joined Gucci’s founding leadership team under Marco Bizzarri and Alessandro Michele–the team behind one of the most significant commercial transformations in the industry’s recent history.
From early 2020 to July 2023, he served at Valentino in the same job position and member of the executive committee, working closely with Pierpaolo Piccioli on the redefinition of the Roman maison. He then returned to Gucci in 2023 as EVP, Chief Brand Officer, a role he held until the end of 2024. Over the past eighteen months, he has served as Strategic Advisor to Etnia Eyewear Culture, a Barcelona-based eyewear company, and to Allemandi / Intesa Sanpaolo, where he contributed to redefining the editorial and commercial model of Il Giornale dell’Arte, an Italian leading art publication.
“La Perla is a unicum; a unique brand carrying genuine, irreplaceable equity, rooted in a factory, a craft, and a cultural authority that cannot be manufactured from scratch. From September, my focus will be on converting that heritage into consistent, contemporary performance,” commented Vannetti.
