Fashion meets art at next Fashion Positions, making Berlin shine again

Fashion Positions, Berlin

From 10 September to 13 September, Fashion Positions, a presentation format that aims to make fashion and art dialogue, will take place in Berlin, at the former Tempelhof Airport, at Hangar 5 and 6.

As part of the Positions Berlin Art Fair and Berlin Art Week, it offers fashion designers based in Berlin a unique platform to present their work in an artistic context. Thanks to this format, fashion is not simply considered as wearable design, but as an art form presenting itself through art installations.

Each year, about 20 selected designers from the German capital exhibit their collections in individual installations that engage directly with the contemporary art world. Visitors can experience a new and broader perception of fashion and can discover new perspectives on the designers’ creative work.

Among the 22 participants of the upcoming 2026 edition, there will be Bodach, Marie-Louise Müller X Ute Faber, Carolin Dieler, Maximilian Gedra, Cruba X Uli Aigner, Nicole Kiesel, and Elodie Carstensen Plaid-À-Porter, among others.

Fashion Positions’ approach to fashion is different than conventional events, as each creation is not simply considered as a product, but as an independent form of creative expression, as labels participating in the initiative are at a crossroads between design, craftsmanship, material research, and social discourse. Moreover, rather than presenting collections through traditional runway shows, the exhibition places them at the center as spatial works—as textile objects, creative statements, and expressions of individual perspectives.

In addition to the artistic presentations, the adjacent “Fashion Passion Shop” offers the opportunity to purchase selected pieces directly.

With 30,000 visitors annually and direct sales of €25,000—all of which go directly to the designers—Fashion Positions is considered one of the most economically successful fashion presentation formats in Germany.

The historic Tempelhof Airport, with its huge spaces and essential and rationalistic architecture, enhances the exhibition’s avant-garde atmosphere that makes participants experience a highly emotional impact from the clashing together of different forms of creative expression like art, architecture, and fashion.
