New step for Pioneer Denim debuting at Preface Los Angeles

Pioneer Denim

Pioneer Denim, a global vertically integrated denim manufacturer, will participate the upcoming edition of Preface Los Angeles, taking place July 29–30.

The show, happening at 356 S Mission Rd, Los Angeles, is a key event dedicated to the denim industry and a meeting point for brands, designers, and industry professional for fabric sourcing, garment manufacturing, setting new collaborations, and networking.

The company’s participation to the show reflects its aim to strengthen its position in the North American market, and expand its role within the global supply chain. Through its debut at this show, it aims to develop its role further from fabric manufacturer and supplier to development partner, supporting brands throughout their entire journey in designing, developing and offering their complete denim collections.

Pioneer Denim is part of the Badsha Group of Industries, one of the world’s largest denim vertically integrated denim manufacturers–from spinning to weaving to garment manufacturing, while leading the industry in sustainable innovation as the company has been awarded as the world’s largest LEED Platinum certified textile mill.

We met Christian Reca, worldwide marketing & merchandising manager, Pioneer Denim, and asked him how the company wants to develop and grow within the global jeanswear market.

Is Pioneer Denim participating Preface Los Angeles for the first time?

Yes, this is our first time participating in Preface Los Angeles.

We chose to participate in it because we believe this event is currently one of the most interesting opportunities for dialogue among manufacturers, brands, and designers in the North American market. We particularly appreciate its strong product-oriented approach and the highly qualified selection of exhibitors.

For Pioneer Denim, this is a natural step within an international strategy aimed at getting closer to our customers in key markets, creating opportunities for meeting, exchanging ideas, and shared growth.

Are you already selling in the US market?

We are already active in this market and have been collaborating for some time with various international brands operating in the US. For us, this is a very strategic market, both in terms of denim and the development of finished garments―two areas where we can best showcase our expertise.

Preface, therefore, represents an important opportunity to strengthen our presence, develop new relationships, and create opportunities for dialogue and exchange with brands, designers, and product teams.

Today, we are among the few players capable of offering a truly integrated service, from fiber to finished garment. Our value lies in our ability to support customers throughout the entire product development process, combining textile expertise, materials research, design, and knowledge of production technologies. It is this vision that allows us to be a true development partner.

Pioneer Denim

In which market areas are you currently selling primarily?

Pioneer Denim works with clients across Europe, North America, and Asia. Historically, the European market has represented a significant portion of our business, but in recent years we’ve seen substantial growth in both North America and Asia, where brands are increasingly seeking partners capable of offering not only fabrics but also product development expertise, innovation, and a fully integrated supply chain.

We collaborate with premium brands, contemporary brands, and international companies seeking a partner capable of developing innovative collections with rapid turnaround times, high technical content, and―above all―an approach tailored to the client’s specific needs. For us, fabric is not a standard product, but the starting point for a shared project.

For this show and to grow in the US, have you created specific product lines, or have you expanded your offering in any direction?

Rather than developing a collection dedicated exclusively to the United States, we prefer to speak of a continuous evolution of our offering, guided by listening to the global market.

Thanks to our headquarters, our offices in various markets, and constant dialogue with international clients and partners, we gather information on a daily basis that allows us not only to interpret trends but, above all, to anticipate the needs of brands.

This is why our product development is extremely dynamic. Rather than traditional collections, we create themed capsule collections and targeted offerings, designed to respond quickly to the market’s diverse demands.

For the f/w 2027/2028 season, which we will present at Preface, we have focused on lighter denim offering greater comfort, superior recovery performance, sophisticated construction, and an extremely soft hand feel. At the same time, we have expanded our research into natural and innovative fibers, introducing materials such as Tencel, linen, hemp, Merino wool, silk, and recycled fibers, along with technologies like Lycra® Vintage.

Alongside the product, we continue to invest in our “from seed to garment” model, which allows customers to develop a complete project within a single vertical supply chain. It is this approach―even more so than any single fabric―that today represents Pioneer Denim’s main distinguishing feature.

Pioneer Denim

Through this trade show, are you aiming to also reach other markets such as Canada, Central America, among others?

The US is certainly our priority market, both in terms of size and the role it plays in the evolution of premium denim on an international level.

At the same time, Preface is an international event that attracts professionals from across North America and other countries on the continent. For this reason, we consider it a strategic platform for strengthening relationships not only in the United States, but also in Canada and other North American markets, while keeping a close eye on South America.

Our strategy, however, remains global. After Los Angeles, we’ll also be attending Denim Première Vision Tokyo, because we’re convinced that innovation in denim today stems from an ongoing dialogue between Europe, North America, and Asia. Pioneer Denim aims to be just that: an international hub where different cultures, skills, and visions come together to give rise to new ideas, new materials, and new interpretations of contemporary denim.
