At Milano Unica, various companies committed to quality and focused on excellence and “Made in Europe” products caught the attention of industry insiders.
Among them is Manifattura Pezzetti, a company founded in 1913 in Châtillon, in the Aosta Valley, Italy. It is managed by the third generation according to a family tradition that upholds values such as craftsmanship, innovation, and quality.
The company is a leader in Italy and Europe in the production of linings and technical fabrics for men’s and women’s fashion and accessories. It offers top-tier products for leading international luxury brands. These are high-end fabrics enhanced with dyes and prints, made from a variety of natural, artificial, and synthetic fibers, many of which are also certified as sustainable.
“Despite the widespread market difficulties, we continue to experience a period of growth that has led us to record revenue of €27.3 million in 2025, up 7% from €25.5 million in 2024. Furthermore, in the first half of 2026, we recorded a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when we had seen a 20% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2024,” commented Stefano Bernasconi, CEO, Manifattura Pezzetti.
The company generates 60% of its sales in Italy and 40% abroad, and is working to increase its export share, with France and the U.S. among the top markets.
“We are strengthening our sales structure, operating abroad primarily through a direct sales model because we want to maintain a very close relationship with our customers.”
Among the most requested materials at the latest edition of Milano Unica were mainly viscose, cupro, and silk fabrics. “We’re seeing increasing demand for more distinctive blends and silk-like materials, especially in lighter-weight products, but also twills, to name a few, as well as materials for linings and outerwear—such as duchesse fabrics weighing between 200 and 150 grams, which are suitable for both uses,” explains the manager.
“Another noteworthy innovation are double-printed lining fabrics—materials that enhance garments not only by completing the inner side of the garment but also an added value,” adds Bernasconi, while also noting that they are developing an increasing number of fabrics for accessories as a response to the market’s requests.
They recently presented their first Sustainability Report in compliance with European regulatory standards, which are currently still voluntary but will soon become law.
In line with these choices, Manifattura Pezzetti’s production philosophy is based on a constant commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
All sustainable fabrics made in Italy are the result of eco-friendly processes aimed at reducing energy consumption, using renewable raw materials, optimizing the production chain, and employing advanced biotechnologies.
The selection of sustainable products, for example, is based on the use of certified materials sourced from responsible supply chains. These include RCS-certified Cupro Bemberg, produced entirely or partially from recycled linters—residues resulting from cotton processing—as well as FSC-certified acetate and viscose, made from cellulose fibers sourced from responsibly managed forests, and GRS-certified recycled polyester, obtained from the recovery of both pre-consumer materials (i.e., production waste) and post-consumer materials. Furthermore, especially for linings, the company uses GOTS-certified silk and cotton, with at least 70% of the natural fibers guaranteed to be of organic origin throughout the entire production chain.
Also in the spirit of environmental stewardship, the company opened a new facility in Castellamonte, near Turin, at the end of 2025. It serves as the group’s administrative and operational hub, occupies 6,000 sq. meter of covered area and 8,900 sq. meter of outdoor space, and was built in accordance with LEED certification criteria, in addition to being powered by renewable energy.
The newest facility joins two other production sites—one is Tesso Fabrics, in Tavernerio, near Como, and the other is Soieries Vincent, in France, in the heart of the Lyon textile district. The three facilities occupy a total of over 12,000 sq. meter of covered space and 21,000 sq. meter of outdoor areas. They are all characterized by a highly specialized organizational structure and have a combined production capacity of over 6.5 million meters of fabric per year.
