During the last edition of Milano Unica, Carvico Group introduced a new selection of jersey fabrics by IME, a company bought in 2021 through Jersey Lomellina.
For the occasion they presented a new project focused on a high-end, contemporary take on natural jersey based upon a new tailor-made model. Thanks to the new initiative IME can create exclusive, highly customized textile solutions designed to meet the specific demands of each single premium client.
Its collection of jersey fabrics blends advanced textile research, bespoke tailor-made development, and an elevated aesthetics engineered specifically for premium and luxury brands.
Part of the collection is a selection of 100% natural material jersey fabrics made with cotton, wool, cashmere, silk, viscose, and other blends, only featuring mechanical stretch and no synthetic fiber.
“We designed a collection based upon two elements that seem no longer part of the modern wardrobe– apparel and the tie,”explained Angelo Figus, creative director, IME.
“Looking through this lense we focused on creating a new approach to apparel and want to offer catered solutions for each of our clients. This f/w 2027/2028 collection explores the balance between formal heritage and contemporary freedom. We have brought the codes of classic tailoring into the world of jersey, softening them to achieve a fluid, versatile, and modern aesthetic. Ultimately, jersey is elevated into a sophisticated design instrument, channeling luxury through true comfort, lightness, and material excellence», continued Figus.
They presented an ideal wardrobe featuring raincoats, jackets, trousers, tops and accessories showing that each material can be either used as it is or added with membranes, coating or additional sophisticated effects–purposedly upon request–while engineering exclusive, next-generation fabrics.
Materials include unique jacquards, faux-uni effects, and 3D textures that unlock new potential for jersey with new structures, weights, finishes, and color palettes, along with exclusive and one-of-a-kind fabrics.
Established in 1969 in Borgonovo Val Tidone, Italy, IME partners up with its clients to develop fabrics engineered to meet the unique requirements of each collection. This approach seamlessly blends industrial expertise, fiber mastery, and design sensibility, transforming raw material into the defining element of the final product.
«Our goal with the new IME is to offer high-end brands an advanced development platform where design concepts become standout fabrics. Combining our rich manufacturing heritage with continuous innovation and advanced technical skills, we intend to guide clients in crafting collections that deliver unique identity and significant added value,» says Lorenzo Locatelli, acting chief commercial officer, IME.
Through this strategic leap, IME intends to consolidate its position as the go-to partner for premium natural jersey and proprietary materials designed for global fashion leaders.
