Munich Fabric Start is ready to disclose some novelties. The upcoming edition of the international textile trade show will celebrate its 30th anniversary and will disclose its new identity and a new strategy.
Differently from past summer editions, it will move its upcoming edition from September 14 to 16 July 2026. The aim of the change is to give the market a strong signal, strengthen its position as a European trade show, and offer visitors and exhibitors an early and more efficient entry into the f/w 2027/2028 sourcing season.
The show had established itself in 1996, hosting a vast selection of exhibitors along with different specialized show-in-shows like, for instance, Bluezone, Keyhouse, and The Source. Therefore, it has become a key one-stop sourcing platform for the European fashion industry by hosting some of the most appreciated top players of the industry for textiles, trims, textile machinery, and sourcing, showcasing their latest color and material trends at the MOC in Munich.
Under the headline “30 Years. 30 Stories,” the show will present an international content and storytelling project that reflects on the development of the textile and fashion industry over its three decades of life whilst also looking ahead to future challenges.
The new communication project brings together personal perspectives, memories, and insights from long-standing partners, exhibitors, visitors, creatives, and industry insiders associated with the show. The aim is to highlight the people, ideas, and developments that have shaped the international textile and fashion community over the past 30 years.
For the occasion, starting from June 2026, the show will launch an ongoing editorial project based upon interviews, video statements, photo galleries, quotes, and curated content to be broadcasted successively via digital channels, social media, newsletters, and the show’s platforms.
Aim of the project is to develop a new, contemporary, consistent architecture brand, while strengthening the international profile and communicative appeal of its platform.
The exhibition layout will also follow the trade show’s new visual identity that will translate into more open and minimalist booth and hall design, and through a revamped website, newsletter and MFS app that will reflect Munich Fabric Start’s new and modern direction.
“Our new brand identity is deliberately conceived not merely as a showcase, but as an open platform for content, partnerships and innovation,” commented Florian Klinder, managing director, Munich Fabric Start.
“It reflects our show’s self-image as an internationally connected business and inspiration platform, whilst laying the foundations for more efficient, modern and emotionally resonant brand communication in an increasingly dynamic market environment,” he added.
In order to achieve its new goals, the show has started collaborating with Mayolove, a Munich-based creative and design agency, a full-service agency specialising in brand development, user experience and user interface design, as well as in animation and film.
The show is also investing in its visitor management and expanding its visitor acquisition activities. It aims to strengthen its internationalisation through targeted acquisition in other European countries, strengthening community building, and targeted visitor communication, for example, through a new newsletter concept.
Another key aspect of the upcoming edition of the show will be a specific approach to defining the show’s key themes and trends. For instance, for Autumn.Winter 27/28 they chose “TASTE,” as the main theme of the show, as a choice to give new emphasis to personal taste and choice in a world that is increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. “Finding new forms of expression, individuality, attitude and personality are the new must to live it to the full, whilst respecting the diversity of others’ perspective,” is one of the show’s new messages.
