OTB speeds up its sustainable commitment

Diesel Denim campaign

OTB Group, the international fashion and luxury holding company that owns the brands Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, and Viktor&Rolf, as well as the companies Staff International and Brave Kid, has just released its Sustainability Report 2025. The survey outlines some key results achieved and and a significant progress made under its sustainability strategy “Be Responsible. Be Brave.” according to its pillars, The New Fashion System, Protecting Our Planet, and Brave Together.

Each of these areas is supported by short-, medium-, and long-term goals, which define a clear and measurable roadmap aimed at integrating sustainability into the group’s core business while promoting circularity and social inclusion.

In 2025, the group made significant progress in the environmental, materials, and social impact areas.

Among the key results, OTB confirmed 100% electricity sourcing from renewable sources in its European operations and reached 81% globally, exceeding the 2025 target approved by the Science Based Targets initiative.

OTB reduced its direct emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) by 50% compared to 2019. Furthermore, 29% of the materials used in the group’s brand collections are certified or have a lower environmental impact.

This result enabled OTB to exceed the target set by The Fashion Pact for member companies, which called for 25% of materials used to come from lower-impact alternatives by 2025.

The group registered a 39% increase in purchases of preferred cotton (organic, regenerative, recycled) compared with 2024 and uses  43% leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries.

Along with that, it counts three million products with a digital certificate of authenticity from 2022 to the present day.

OTB Group promotes the development of strategies and the adoption of solutions that encourage responsible procurement by increasingly using materials with a lower environmental impact in both its collections and its packaging.

Furthermore, the holding is also committed to ensuring transparent communication, thereby encouraging more informed purchasing decisions.

OTB is involved in The Fashion Pact, the global coalition of companies working together to share best practices and find new solutions to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry as a whole.

OTB, alongside Prada Group, LVMH, and Richemont, is a steering member of the AURA Blockchain Consortium, which aims to develop and establish new standards for the luxury industry relating to transparency and blockchain technology.

The holding also continues to support young talent as a central element of its strategy through new training and development initiatives. For example, it recently launched the fifth edition of the “Scuola dei Mestieri.” In recent years, it has also trained over 50 young professionals in the Made in Italy sector, more than 80% of whom are currently employed by the group’s companies.

The OTB Foundation is also continuing its social engagement initiatives. For example, it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education and Merit to raise awareness among young people about bullying and gender-based violence, and it supports the Inflatable Hospitals project by Médecins Sans Frontières, in addition to having launched an initiative to facilitate access to cryopreservation programs for the group’s female employees.
