Monte-Carlo Fashion Week has come to a close, having transformed the Principality of Monaco into an international hub of creativity, innovation, and sustainability.
The exclusive event took place from April 14 to 18 and was one of the most significant appointments on the fashion calendar, with the Fashion Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner serving as its highlight. During the event, the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode honored leading figures in fashion for their ethical and innovative vision.
Among the most significant awards, the Legacy Award was posthumously awarded to Giorgio Armani. It was a tribute to Armani’s revolutionary impact on fashion, his vision, his timeless elegance, his cultural influence, and his enduring style.
The award was presented by American actress Kelly Rutherford to Anoushka Borghesi, Global Communication Director at Giorgio Armani.
Francesca Bellettini, President and CEO of Gucci, received the Positive Change Award for her visionary leadership and her commitment to promoting an inclusive, creative, and responsible business model capable of driving change in the global luxury sector.
The Emerging Designer Award went to Macy Grimshaw, a young British talent with a master’s degree from Central Saint Martins in London, for her unique creative vision and her experimental and sustainable approach to design.
His custom-made creations have already been worn by celebrities such as Harry Styles, Emma Corrin, Pink Pantheress, and Paloma Elsesser.
Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, the guest of honor at a Face to Face event held at the Monaco Yacht Club, received the Social Impact & Sustainable Innovation Award for his contribution to responsible innovation, global inclusion, and his commitment to expanding access to eye care through the EssilorLuxottica Foundation.
Additionally, Alessandro Binello, Group CEO of the Quadrivio Group, owner of fashion and beauty brands such as Twinset, GCDS, and Sessün.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation participated by bringing together a panel of designers and sustainability experts, fostering dialogue on the themes of responsible innovation.
The final day of fashion shows took place in the Grande Verrière of the Grimaldi Forum, a spectacular steel-and-glass structure.
Opening the Twinset show was Laila Hasanovic, a top model known for being the girlfriend of world No. 1 tennis champion Jannik Sinner. The collection, inspired by the Côte d’Azur, culminated in a grand finale dedicated to evening gowns, a perfect expression of elegance and modernity.
The runway featured other talented Monegasque and international brands such as Kalfar and Beach & Cashmere Monaco by Federica Nardoni Spinetta, a sustainable brand that uses dead-stock fabrics and innovative dyeing techniques. The show also included a collaboration with the young Monegasque footwear brand Di lorio Monaco, known for its lace designs.
Other brands featured included Portuguese designer Diana Mara, who creates ethical and sustainable fashion; Monegasque designer Yasya Minochkina, with her collection of refined and feminine silhouettes; and young British designer Macy Grimshaw, with her collection that plays with trompe l’oeil prints.
