Amsterdam saw many commemorative events dedicated to Adriano Goldschmied within the last few days. Among others, a special occasion saw the launch of the f/w 2027/2028 Pioneer Denim fabric collection “Storm of Love,” interpreted by an exceptional personality who recently left us—Adriano Goldschmied.
The prolific designer signed this last sample collection, leaving another mark of his unique touch, and gave the denim community another occasion to meet together and remember him.
On 14 April, Pioneer Denim hosted a catwalk show of the fabric’s collection, interpreted by the denim guru who played with yarn-dyed multicolor checks and stripes, uneven laser-treated denim parkas, blazers and coats, aged effects, chalk-like coated jackets, and denim overalls, among other pieces.
Also part of the selection was a vast series of pieces designed by Dutch designer Kentroy Yearwood, who contributed and designed a part of the collection on show. A blue and slightly foggy ambience was the background for this out-of-the-world catwalk happening at the sound of a forward-minded soundtrack by Valentina Pegorer, an appreciated DJ of the international music scene.
“Our relationship with Adriano was built on mutual respect and curiosity,” commented Pioneer Denim’s Christian Reca, remembering the over two-year-long collaboration with the Maestro.
“He never approached denim as something static. For him, denim was alive—a material to question, to push, to challenge. He believed deeply in the value of the entire chain—from fiber to garment, from spinning to finishing. He respected the knowledge of technicians, laundries, dyers, designers, and pattern makers. Adriano didn’t just design denim—he respected the people who made it possible,” continued Reca, greeting the Goldschmied family who had joined the event together with over 120 international guests.
