Sunflower, an established Danish men’s fashion brand, will be the star of a runway show to be held during Pitti Uomo in June. The project was conceived to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) and to highlight the long-standing collaboration between Pitti Immagine and brands from Northern Europe.
“The CPHFW Special Project will take place at Pitti Immagine as part of our 20th anniversary. It underscores how essential strong international partnerships are for projecting men’s fashion on a global scale. Pitti has long supported Nordic fashion, and we are proud to bring Sunflower to Florence as our guest designer—a brand that embodies both the creative and commercial strength of our region,” said Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
“For us, this moment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Sunflower,” added Ulrik Pedersen, founder of Sunflower, a menswear collection launched in 2018 characterized by a minimalist aesthetic and featuring denim, tailored garments, leather goods, knitwear, and everyday wear.
“We’ve always believed in keeping things simple and doing the same thing but always better—a bit like a good rock song: direct, clear, with nothing superfluous. “The event in Florence provides the ideal setting to clearly present this new chapter,” added Pedersen.
“Florence and Copenhagen are cities united by a special bond and a vision of fashion that focuses on research and innovation, yet remains firmly grounded in the product and in a keen understanding of the market,” added Antonio Cristaudo, chief commercial and development officer, Pitti Immagine.
“We are closely following Sunflower’s journey because of its clear stylistic identity. Thanks to its product consistency, its fresh and intelligent design, and its ability to surprise every season, it captures the attention of international trend-setting buyers,” added Cristaudo.
