Fasac is hitting its 70s with plenty of new projects

Fasac's Archviovivo

Fasac is an Italian company specialised in the production of dyed and printed textiles from Cassina Rizzardi in the Como silk district. It was founded in 1955, and owned by the Curti family since 1990.

In 2025, the textile specialist celebrated its 70th anniversary, disclosing many new projects, including the opening of its historical archive to both insiders and a wider public.

Despite they inaugurated the archive in 2024, for the 2025 anniversary celebrations, they named their vast fabric archive Archiviovivo, whose name stands for the Italian for “living archive.”

They decided to transform it into a hub that helps amplify fresh ideas, host special occasions for sharing the company’s memories and vision, and inspire future projects.

Since last fall, ArchivioVivo has organised a series of events, exhibitions, and meetings, but also, as it recently happened, it has also hosted wine tastings and cultural events.

The archive is an inspiring design project that occupies three levels on 2,300 sq. m. and hosts 95,000 different patterns, materials and fabric samples. It is entirely digitalized and available for industry insiders, designers and students for consulting, as well as constantly used as a source of inspiration by its own staff.

On the ground floor, visitors can find a space reminiscent of the traditional concept of a square,  where, similarly to Italian cities, people can meet and interact.

The first floor houses the Vintage section, featuring over 15,000 historic samples from the 1950s to the 1990s.

The second floor features the current collections on one side and an exclusive area dedicated to the world of interior design on the other.

In the center is a physical and digital archive containing over 80,000 designs, the result of decades of research, creativity, and experimentation.

Fasac's Archiviovivo

Fasac is run as an entrepreneurial group by the Curti family that has owned it since 1990. Leading the company is its president, Federico, along with Virginio, Lino, and Carlo Curti.

It operates through a fully verticalized production system that also manages and owns a dyeing facility in Central Italy, in Città della Pieve.

The company is extremely sensitive to pursuing environmentally and socially sustainable practices. It uses three photovoltaic energetic plants and produces 70% of the energy it uses autonomously, along with one cogeneration plant.

While in 2022, the group released its first sustainability report, it is also investing in and adopting ever more sustainable printing technologies. It is also focused on wastewater treatment and monitoring and the elimination of hazardous chemicals in accordance with leading international protocols.

For several years now, Fasac Spa has voluntarily adhered to the 4Sustainability commitment; it applies the CHEM protocol for the elimination of toxic and harmful substances from production cycles through the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) MRSL, and each year has its corporate performance regarding the use of sustainable materials measured and certified by Ympact.

Fasac promotes the use of certified and sustainable materials. Over the years, it has obtained some of the leading product certifications, such as GOTS, GRS, RCS, FSC, European Flax, and Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

At the same time, the group embraces sustainability by partnering with an ever-growing number of social projects, such as a recent conference with Telefono Donna to raise awareness about violence against women and the installation of four beehives in the green area adjacent to ArchivioVivo.

Throughout 2026, major initiatives will take place in the charitable sector to support the training of young designers enrolled in the most renowned national schools.

The company is also keen about supporting its employees with continuing education programs, corporate book-crossing, and comprehensive welfare programs—managed in collaboration with neighboring companies.

Fasac

Fasac closed 2025 registering €76.6 million in revenues and expects a +10% growth by the end of 2026. It employs 374 people, throughout its three productive hubs that occupy 47,500 sq. meters, along with 7,500 sq. meter offices.
