“The negotiated settlement of the crisis was unsuccessful, but negotiations with the new investors are continuing. A €15 million capital increase has been approved, and the subscription period runs until April 20,” explained Tommaso Andorlini, CEO and majority shareholder of LuisaViaRoma.

“Our goal is the same as the union’s: to protect jobs. We have already reached agreements with 90% of the creditors, and now we have another 60 days to finalize them,” he explained.

The unions are not happy with these measures, however. “Jobs are at risk. The disruption caused by corporate restructuring leaves us speechless,” said Yuri Vigiani, spokesperson of the local unions, referring to an uncertain destiny for the online platform, too.

“We’ve already heard of potential buyers. If they truly wanted to revive the company, they would have acted differently, perhaps by developing the new platform internally,” says the union representative.

For Filcams, the future is uncertain. “We have no certainty about what will happen to the historic stores, which helped build the LuisaViaRoma brand’s reputation even before the advent of the Internet,” continues the union spokesperson, emphasizing that in addition to the 200 direct employees, about 100 workers of the logistics company managing the Campi Bisenzio warehouse are also at risk. 

A new meeting fixed by the Region of Tuscany involving the different parties will happen again on March 31.
