The 56 Italian brands that are members of Altagamma—the association of top quality exclusive Italian brands spanning sectors such as fashion, design, food, automotive, jewelry, and boating—will participate in the “Icons of Italy” initiative.
The event will feature a citywide exhibition in the heart of New York City from April 9 to 11, involving 43 stores owned by Altagamma member companies.
“Icons of Italy celebrates the cultural dialogue between Italy and the United States that has enriched both countries for generations,” said Matteo Lunelli, president of Altagamma, during and exclusive conference in New York.
“American consumers have always appreciated and valued the craftsmanship, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that define Made in Italy. With this initiative, we want to highlight the cultural richness and diversity of our creative industries by offering visitors an authentic journey through the culture, traditions, and regions that shape Italian excellence.”
For three days, New York will become a showcase for Made in Italy through various initiatives featuring master artisans at work, workshops on fabric and jewelry-making techniques, talks with designers and experts, wine tastings and cooking demonstrations, video installations, and displays of artifacts from the brands’ historical archives.
Each experience is designed to highlight the creative process that makes the creation of iconic products possible and is conceived to showcase, in a variety of ways, the value and craftsmanship of Italy’s heritage.
The detailed program will be published on the website iconsofitaly.altagamma.it.
The project is part of the initiatives planned for National Made in Italy Day, celebrated on April 15, the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, a figure who embodied the union of art, science, technology, and imagination that lies at the heart of Italian creativity.
The project’s goal is to promote the unique richness and beauty of Made in Italy craftsmanship worldwide.
